No more smears. Mascara that stays on your lashes.

I spend a good part of my day doing "touch ups" on actors. After every few takes I run in and make sure lipstick is still on, sweat is mopped off, there's no food in anyone's teeth, etc.  I am always on the lookout for products that will cut down on touch up time. That brings me to mascara that runs. Those black smudges have to be cleaned up, then concealer has to be re-applied, then the whole thing has to be powdered. Not an easy task in the 30 seconds we get to do all of our "touch ups" before the camera rolls, with 50 crew members waiting.

Lancome has a fantastic product called Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Base. It not only helps separate and thicken your lashes when applied before your mascara but it helps keep it on.
I know, I know, one more step but it will save you from cleaning up the mascara from under your eyes all day!

I'm sure it was meant to be used with other Lancome mascara but I use it with other brands and it seems to work just as well.

So, while we are on the subject I'll tell you about some of my favorite mascaras.
Lancome Definicils High Definition mascara. It's great for creating long, separated, natural looking lashes.

I also really like Cover Girl's Lash Blast. I'm using it now on Sophia Vergara from Modern Family on my film The Three Stooges. It adds a lot of volume and length. And I love the orange tube.

Smashbox Full Exposure mascara was inspired by the on set technique of layering a lengthening fiber mascara over a volumiziing formula to create super long thick lashes. It's really great.

I also discovered Clinique's mascara for bottom lashes. It has a tiny pointed brush that can coat even the smallest lash. It's really fun to use and is smudge resistant. I suggest adding a bit of the Lancome Cils Booster XL Base first, just in case.

Just a note: If you use an oily under eye cream or sunscreen it may smudge your mascara even with the above tips and products.
